Group Description :
Bons Buveurs exists for the sheer pleasure of exploring a range of beverages, alcoholic or otherwise, in the company of like-minded explorers. The aim is to discover new favourites, learn about old favourites, and understand more the complexities of the processes involved.
We now have dates for our seventeenth and eighteenth meetings.
The seventeenth meeting will be on Wednesday 26th November, in Glasgow. We'll begin at 12 noon at the Wild Olive Tree Cafe, in St George's Tron Church, 163 Buchanan Street, and then move across the north side of George Square to the Alchemist (Unit 2, George House, George Square), before hauling ourselves back to Buchanan Bus Station.
The Wild Olive Tree is a cafe with a moral message; a social enterprise with all profits going to Glasgow City Mission and the Bethany Trust, which help homeless and vulnerable people in Glasgow. They do fantastic tea and coffee, and the scones are to die for.
The Alchemist (thealchemistbars.com) (part of a national chain) is, according to one Google review, 'the perfect plave to spend time with a nice atmosphere and delicious food', while they themselves say that their 'acolytes are rigorously trained to see not what is, but what could be. They experiment with rare substances and combine them in unexpected ways, seeking to refine the pursuit of real pleasure.'
The eighteenth meeting will be back in our usual Ayr venue, the Treehouse/T-Bar in Sandgate. This will be on Thursday 18th December, from 3 p.m.
I look forward to seeing you at either or both venues.
New members always welcomed.
