Bons Buveurs exists for the sheer pleasure of exploring a range of beverages, alcoholic or otherwise, in the company of like-minded explorers. The aim is to discover new favourites, learn about old favourites, and understand more the complexities of the processes involved.
White Russians, a milk-based cocktail, were a highlight of the well-attended meeting last week. We began at the Ottoman Coffee House, 73 Berkeley Street, Glasgow, for traditionally prepared coffee and moreish baklava. The White Russians were at Lebowskis, 1008 Argyle Street - they were the preferred drink of the Dude in The Big Lebowski, but perhaps an acquired taste.
The next meetings will be on Thursday 2nd July, at 3 p.m. in the Treehouse/T-Bar, Sandgate, Ayr, and Wednesday 29th July at the West Brewery, 15 Binnie Street (the former Templeton's Carpet Factory, near the People's Palace). They open at 11.
