Group Details For Tuesday Book

Group Description :

TUESDAY BOOK GROUP

This group shares and discusses both fiction and non-fiction books. Every few
months group members have a planning meeting when we collaboratively choose a range of books to include in our ‘book of the month’ programme. The group currently meets on the second Tuesday of each month, starting at 2pm.

Next meeting: 2pm-4pm on Tuesday 8th September 2026

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie   by   Muriel Spark.

We open 2026/27 with a classic - the pithy "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" by Muriel Spark. Considered by our group to be well worth the re-read, this novel follows the story of a most unconventional school teacher who grooms a 'set' of six of her pupils in her egocentric image. But what has Miss Brodie actually created, and what happens when 'her girls' finally find their own voices?

Meetings are hosted on a voluntary basis and in rotation by group members. It must be emphasised that hosting is not a condition of group membership, so please don't put off getting in touch because you are unable or not willing to offer a space for the group to meet in.

This group is currently at capacity, but please add yourself to the waiting list if you'd like to join us once a place becomes available. Meantime, Book Group Facilitator, Catherine Cowie will be happy to send you a copy of our reading list for 2026/27 if you contact her using the ema
il link below.
