Membership fee and year
The membership year runs from 1st April. Members joining between January and March will receive full membership until the following year i.e., the final three months of the current year will be free. Select Membership type FULL when applying. The annual membership fee is currently £10 (2024/25).
If you will be a member of another u3a beyond April 1st then select Member of another u3a and enter the u3a name and your membership number. Your fee will be reduced by the capitation fee. Please send proof of your other u3a membership to ayru3a@gmail.com

PAYING YOUR SUBSCRIPTION FEE
After selecting 'I Agree', and completing the Application Form on the next page, you will be offered the facility to pay your membership subscription by credit or debit card. Alternatively, click the 'Pay fee Later' button and you will be sent instructions on what to do next.
GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATIONS
Ayr u3a has implemented a Data Protection Policy and Privacy Policy in order to comply with requirements under the General Data Protection Regulations in connection with the holding and dissemination of personal data.
PRIVACY POLICY
Ayr u3a requires members to provide their personal information so that they can be kept informed about events and activities that are offered as part of their membership. In collecting your information Ayr u3a will:
PHOTOGRAPHS
Occasionally photographs of group activities will be taken for the website etc. If members do not wish to appear in the photograph they will be asked to step out of shot. Otherwise consent will be assumed for such photographs to be used. Should a member wish at any time to remove their consent and to have their photograph deleted then they may request to have it removed.
EMERGENCY CONTACT
We ask for emergency contact details so that we know who to contact on your behalf in the event of a serious incident or accident. You do not have to provide this information, but if you do, please make the individual named aware that this information has been passed to Ayr u3a and why.
ACCESSIBILITY
We want to ensure that our groups are as accessible as possible to all our members. You do not have to provide information of any accessibility issues you may have, but if you do, it will enable us to make reasonable adjustments to include you in our activities.
THIRD AGE TRUST - Magazine
With your consent, the Third Age Trust will send you its magazine, Third Age Matters (TAM), directly to you. To give your consent, opt-in on the application form and Ayr u3a will send your postal address to the Third Age Trust for the purpose of receiving the magazine. Please note that if you opt in to receive the magazine, your consent will be for the duration of your membership of Ayr u3a -unless you advise the membership team otherwise. It is also important that you advise the membership team if you change your address.
RETENTION OF INFORMATION
Information is retained for up to one year after the Member resigns. Members authorised to receive personal information from the database must take reasonable precautions to keep this information secure and confidential. Members must take care not to disclose the information to unauthorised parties either intentionally or otherwise, and must ensure that any information received or gathered is destroyed once the purpose for which it was provided is fulfilled.
